Our China Desk is headed by experienced Solicitor Mr Jay Wong. Jay and his expert team of transactional lawyers pride themselves on providing efficient service. Jay’s team operate in both English, Chinese and Hong Kong timezones, meaning that wherever our client is located they will be able to communicate on their terms and not where we are based.
Jay and his multilingual team regularly travel back to China and Hong Kong, where they maintain strong links with our current clients. In addition to our Asia desk, we have a specialist real estate team who are on hand to assist with a vast array of specialist Real Estate matters, from Clive Selwyn our block lease specialist to Matthew Elash who specialises in Bridging Finance.
As well as our real estate team, we are on hand to support our clients with all personal and business advisory matters from shipping law to international arbitration and white collar crime. Our litigation team is headed up by Bryony Palmer and our Corporate & commercial team by Dual US-UK qualified solicitor Markus Malik.
Jay Wong joined Ackroyd Legal in 2022 as a Senior Partner and Head of the China Desk. Jay is an expert transactional solicitor who is trusted by many major developers as legal advisor for their developments. On the other side, Jay’s team are on hand to advise on all inward and outward investment from China, whether it is personal, or business related.
We acquired Jay’s talent from the multinational Law Firm Zhong Lun Law where he was a Partner. Prior to this Jay trained at Maxwell Alves after completing his LPC at the University of Law. Jay holds an LLB from the Russell Group, University of York.
