As a Newly Qualified Solicitor specializing in Employment Law at Ackroyd Legal, you will embark on a dynamic legal career focused on providing expert advice and representation to clients in various employment-related matters. Under the guidance of experienced employment law solicitors, you will handle a range of cases, offer legal counsel, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Manage a diverse caseload of employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and employment contract disputes.
- Conduct client interviews, assess case details, and strategize legal approaches.
Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case arguments, ensuring that all legal strategies are well-informed and in compliance with current employment laws and regulations.
- Analyse complex legal issues and provide clients with sound recommendations and advice.
Document Preparation:
- Draft and review legal documents, including employment contracts, settlement agreements, and court pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
- Maintain organized and complete case files, including all relevant documentation.
Client Representation:
- Represent clients in various forums, including mediation, negotiation, and court proceedings.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and interests, making persuasive legal arguments and seeking favourable resolutions.
Client Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments, legal proceedings, and timelines.
- Address client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Alternative Dispute Resolution:
- Assist in negotiations and settlements, working with opposing parties and mediators to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes.
Court Appearances:
- Attend employment tribunal hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings as required.
- Prepare clients for court appearances and provide skilled representation.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure that all employment law activities comply with legal requirements, ethical standards, and court rules.
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
a) Newly qualified solicitor with a law degree (LLB) and successful completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
b) Admission to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or equivalent regulatory body.
c) Strong interest in employment law and employment-related legal matters.
d) Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
e) Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
f) Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
g) Empathetic and client-focused approach when working with clients.
