Trainee Solicitor -Conveyancing

As a Trainee Solicitor in Conveyancing at Ackroyd Legal, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to develop your legal skills and expertise in property law and conveyancing. This role will provide you with hands-on experience, guidance from experienced solicitors, and exposure to a wide range of real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Learning and Development:

a) Engage in an intensive training program focused on conveyancing and property law.

b) Work closely with experienced solicitors to gain practical experience and knowledge.

c) Attend internal and external training sessions, seminars, and workshops as required.

2. Legal Research:

a) Conduct legal research on property law, conveyancing procedures, and related matters.

b) Assist in analysing complex legal issues and providing recommendations.

3. Document Preparation

a) Draft and review legal documents related to property transactions, including contracts, leases, and deeds.

b) Prepare documents for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.

4. Client Communication:

a) Communicate with clients, real estate agents, and other parties involved in property transactions.

b) Provide updates on the progress of cases and address client inquiries professionally.

5. Due Diligence:

a) Assist in conducting due diligence on properties, including title searches, land registry checks, and environmental assessments.

b) Identify potential issues and collaborate with senior solicitors to resolve them.

6. Transaction Support:

a) Assist in managing property transactions from start to finish, including liaising with lenders, managing deadlines, and coordinating closings.

b) Prepare closing documents, settlement statements, and financial records.

7) Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

a) Ensure that all conveyancing transactions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

b) Stay updated on changes in property law and conveyancing procedures.

8) Administrative Duties:

a) Perform administrative tasks, including file management, document organization, and maintaining accurate records.     

b) Provide general support to solicitors, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.

Qualifications:

  1. Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
  2. Enrolment as a trainee solicitor with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or equivalent regulatory body.
  3. Strong interest in property law and conveyancing.
  4. Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
  7. Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
